Why, Hello!

I'm the worst blogger ever.  Did I mention that before?  No.  Well, darn, I should of.  But the thing is, I don't really care.  I don't care that it's been however long since I've posted because I do this for me.  Not for you.  Is there even a you?  I do this because I've been in love with blogging since 2005.  Yep, that's right 2005.  This is the 4th? blog that I've started.  I've actually had one for over a year ... but I deleted it because my emotions came into play.

I kind of want to change the focus of this blog ... just a bit, to a lifestyle/decor/diy/everything else my heart desires blog.  Because that's who I am.  I can't focus on just one thing.  I want to express myself it magical ways.  Magical?  Did I just say magical ways?  WOW!  Moving on ...

I want to blog about my impending trip to Disney World (again), I want to blog about my Instagram photos, I want to blog about the wall I will paint, the furniture I will buy, my impending decisions on a desk or not a desk, I want to blog about my cat.  Yes, my cat.  I want, I want, I want ... so I will.

/end rant.

I'll decipher what I'm blogging by my labels obviously.  I may as well tell you now ...

DIY/DECOR: Apartment Things, [specific room]
DISNEY WORLD: Disney Dreaming

MY LIFE IN GENERAL: Life

And last but not least ...

A Grown Up Purchase

My best friend (hi Josie!) came down to visit me this past weekend, and through all our late nights and watching The OC, we had a mission ... a mission to find me a couch.  Two days, and seven furniture stores (there were more non-furniture specific stores -- we are girls after all, hah) later, I bought a couch.

It's a Steven and Chris, Canadian made, beaut of a couch.  It was a bit more than what I was looking to spend -- but a girl fell in love, what can I say?  Excuse the iPhone photo but here's a shot I snapped in the store.

Just look at those lines.  Oh those glorious lines!  Two cushion couches beat three cushion couches (in my mind) any day.  And those legs.  I have to say when it comes to couches; I'm all about the legs.  Just ask my BFF; that's all I kept saying when we were looking "there's no legs, I need legs!".

So, that buy a couch part of my list -- you've been checked!  Onto the next ...

One List for One Apartment

So there's two ways to start a blog... you can slowly let the audience in and write a welcome post letting them know your intentions of the blog, where you'd like it to go, what the point is, yadda yadda... or you can dive right in.

When you move into a new apartment there's tons of things that need to get done. This is that list. That on going list. I've decided that I'm going to share this list with you. You know, for fun.
  • Clean the apartment upside down; I've already started this, and I only added it so it'll seem like I'm doing more then I've done. Haha
  • Unpack and put things away  This is semi-done, I need to buy a few more things in order to put EVERYTHING away (tv stand & a new dresser)
  • Purchase a kitchen table
  • Purchase a couch
  • Purchase/or construct a media cabinet/table. I'm thinking of finding a dresser or something off of Kijiji The buy a dresser or something off of Kijiji didn't happen ... but I may still keep my eye out for one for the future -- still looking for a dresser, for well, you know, to use as a dresser.
  • Find/purchase bed end tables
  • Find a circular wooden coffee table
  • Purchase a new tall (chest) dresser
  • Take out all nails, screws and anchors in walls (you wouldn't believe just how many holes are in these walls!) and plaster over them
  • Paint the living room; I'm thinking gray right now; just don't know the shade
  • Paint the bedroom; pink. Light pretty pink.  Diane by Olympic to be exact
  • Paint the bathroom? I'm not 100% sure I want to bother painting the bathroom (and having to remove the toilet to paint behind it scares me!), or if I should just leave it white and add contrast and colour through accents
  • Hang curtains in the bedroom/purchase curtains for the living room
  • Upholster a headboard
  • Paint the entrance table yellow. BRIGHT YELLOW.
  • Purchase a new duvet; not sure what I want it to look like yet, we'll see
  • Power wash the balcony
  • Hang picture frames and mirror in the entrance way (spray paint mirror; white?)
  • Paint the chalkboard frame white
